Significant Changes made

The biggest changes I made were to the music video itself. Firstly, I had to change the storyboard of my video as a big chunk of it was to be filmed in an outside location but unfortunately, said location became flooded and unusable. This then left me with a dilemma on how to film the video and i decided to include lip-syncing from one of the people who starred in the video. This meant i could fill the spaces I had that were supposed to be done in that location with something relevant and different.

Another change I did was add small clips filmed from a portrait point of view phone video. This was done to create more of a fun loving take to the video to show the relationship between the two characters.

I had to remove a lot of the ideas that were on the storyboard such as the basic storyline of the board. This was spoke about in my production post.

Production Post

When producing my video, I decided it would be best to make a storyboard  so I have a visual and word representation of what my video needed to include. This would help me significantly when it came to me filming for my video. My storyboard consisted of 51 shots with a range of different camera angles.

I chose to film and edit on my Iphone 7. The reason why I chose this device is because I would be able to be specific when cutting down footage. Also, there are multiple editing software's that I could have chosen from. In conclusion, I picked a editing software called "Cute cut".

Firstly, I purchased the song off of itunes and imported it onto the editing app. After filming 5-10 second clips of the chosen shots and began importing/ placing them onto the app in the chronological order. I chose to edit bit by bit instead of all at once to ensure each shot was in the correct place.

After one filming session I achieved a significant chunk of filming and was able to begin editing.

One of the locations of my video became flooded badly and this meant i couldn't film there so thus began the changes to my storyboard. What started of as simply removing a location, changed to removing shots and introducing lip-syncing from the character in my video. This was all filmed in one hour and i was able to edit the different sections of lip syncing into the sections of song.

Some problems I faced while editing involved the app crashing and not allowing me onto the video. this would happen for 10-15 minutes at a time. To try and get around this I deleted photos, apps etc to free up storage, but it still wouldn't work. In the end I had to create a copy of the video I already had in order to continue editing it. This set me back a few days and meant I couldn't get on with the video when I wanted to. Another issue I faced was making sure the video of the lip-syncing syncing on the audio of the song. Every time I moved a clip either side of the lip syncing, it would move out of place and I would have to re-place it.

Other problems I faced was the availability of my actors. A few times I would try to arrange filming sessions and would have to cancel them or change them. This also meant I couldn't film anything for a large chunk of time.

In conclusion, I faced a wide variety of issues and managed to overcome them and finish my music video on time.

Website Review

After looking at my website, I think I need to re-take my images and make them more 'pop' related and more energetic. I'm also gong to change the colour scheme to make it brighter and more related to a pop artist, which will be red to fit my statement of intent. I need to focus on the gallery as my second page and add photos relating to the video.

To ensure my AV content is less dull I need to add more camera angles and have quicker, shorter cuts in between shots. To do this I'm going to re-film my video. I'm also going to show that is exclusive to the website only. Underneath this I'll have an option to leave questions for a second Q&A.

Prop List and Outfits

Props
  1. Bed
  2. Photo-frame
  3. Phone
  4. Picnic blanket
Outfit for First Girl

In the present day scenes my character will be wearing black leggings and a black hoodie. this is to connote the sadness my character is feeling during this time period. In the flashback scenes she will be wearing blue jeans and a white t shirt to show shes happier and to show a bigger contrast between the flashbacks and the present. these outfits will change during each flashback but stick to that basic theme.

Outfit for Second Girl

In the flashbacks will be wearing different dresses to make her different from the first girl. this is to sway away from stereotypes of the LGBTQ+ community. in the present day, because she will only be seen in one scene I will have her wearing a different style dress with a hoodie over the top of it, again to show her sadness.

Location number 5

This is the house I will use in my video. I'm using this because it is nearby and local meaning I can get it quickly and easily.

Location Number 4

This is another road i will be running along in the video. chosen for the same reasons as number 3.

Location Number 3

This is one of the shots I will use during the running scene. It's an every day street which is nice and straight making it easier to run along. This is one of the reasons I chose this particular street. Another reason I chose this one is because it close by to the house I'm using therefore I can run to the location like in the video.

Risk Assessment

Who is Who

Tom Powell- Playing the role of my music artist
Myia Humber- Playing the second girl in the music video. I have chosen her because she is young, physically attractive and good at acting which means she'll be a good asset to the script.
Imogen Angus- Playing the first girl in the music video. i have chosen myself because i know what i want from the music video and think i'll be able to do the role well.

Location Number 2

I'm using this location as a way of making my character more real and to show the vulnerability of her when she's sad. By using a bedroom like this one it keeps it relatable to my audience of young fun loving.

Location Number 1

This is the one of the flashback locations. I've chosen an outdoor location for this as it connotes freedom and will appeal to the audience explorer. It being outside makes good lighting for what the scene is and the large open space followed by the smaller enclosed space of the river means that it keeps it varied whilst still being the same place.
